Of course it feels uncomfortable, and you might keep thinking that it might fall any time soon. Now, to avoid such thing from happening make sure that you purchase underwear which is your size. Unfortunately, there are some people who don't know what their size is. If you are one of them, despair no more because here are some tips on how to determine your size to help you get a size that will fit you perfectly.

There are three standard sizes for lingerie and clothing; US, UK and EU but one should also consider the materials used because there are some which shrinks after few washes.

The bra is the most important female underwear; it's for protection and shape enhancement so getting the right size is very important. You wouldn't like to belong to the 80% of women who uses unfitting bra, would you? When considering of buying a padded bra of course your normal cup size is small so it is advisable to buy the next size, say if you are normally using 34A buy a 34B. When it comes to lingerie like the panty, it is important that you take your hip and waist size, remember that the pants and panty size are not the same. Wrap your waist with the tape measure at the natural curve then get the measurement at the fullest part of the hips. Say if your waist is 27 and your hips is 36, go for the medium-sized panty. So whether you're considering of purchasing shape wear, bra, panty or a gown it is a basic step to know your size before running your way to the shop. Remember that undergarments also contribute to our overall physical appearance.

Bras

Measuring bra size

All measurements are in inches.

First measure firmly around the torso, directly underneath the breasts. This is the underbust or ribcage measurement. Round this to the nearest even number to determine the band size. You may have to take one size larger (i.e. add two to three inches to the underbust measurement) for some brands, especially in the US. Many bra size calculators will add four, five or even six inches to the underbust measurement (there is no known reason for this, aside from the suggestion that by confusing women, bra sellers may be able to coax their clientelle into making more purchases), but this will give a band size which is too large to be supportive. The add 4" to 5" method was devised by Warners in 1935 but does not work with modern bras.

Next measure loosely around the chest over the fullest part of the breasts, while standing straight with arms to the side. This is the bust size or bustline measurement.

The cup size is then calculated based on the difference between the bust size and the band size, converted into a letter using the following table:
